3. The Empath

Novel's Expedition to Planet Earth
  1. The Empath

“History is not moved by the chosen, but by those who are summoned.”

A man bearing twenty thousand years of memory was searching for a single mathematician.

Galactic Year 10066.

Having crossed half the Milky Way, Novel Mirai continued his journey in search of Planet Ealto—the origin of humanity.

Yet he carried another mission as well: to find the successor to Lambda Griss, founder of Chrono Bloom.

At last, he arrived at the legendary oceanic world.
An artificial planet designed to resemble Ealto as closely as possible—its name was Nackcell.

Recalling the hints given by Shao Regal and Irina Premier of Planet Sympathion, Novel could not help but let out a human-like laugh at the thought of Lambda’s final gift—the Radiant Cube.

Concealing his true nature, he had infiltrated Nackcell University under the alias “Homogeen.”

His objective: to invite the young mathematician Hugh Donack to Planet Lilinas, and strengthen the future of the Two Codices.

Hugh excelled in mathematics and chaos theory, and moreover possessed a rare ability—psychic empathy.

Under a crystal-clear blue sky, within a vast campus lined with mangrove groves—

Homogeen sat quietly on a bench in the shade and closed his eyes.

Outwardly, he appeared to be an ordinary middle-aged man.
But within his gaze dwelled twenty thousand years of memory.

Sensing Hugh Donack approaching, he slowly opened his eyes.

Hugh walked briskly across the campus, his lively expression revealing excitement for his upcoming conference presentation.

Just as he was about to pass by, Homogeen called out:

“Hey—You must be Hugh Donack, right?”

Hugh stopped, puzzled.
“Yes, that’s me… but I’m in a hurry, so excuse me.”

“You still have three hours, don’t you? Your conference presentation.
More importantly—could you tell me about the second manuscript you discovered?”

Hugh froze in astonishment.
“What? How do you know about that? I haven’t told anyone!”

Homogeen smiled and gestured to the bench beside him.
“Would you mind sitting down for a moment?”

Hesitant, Hugh sat.

Once he began speaking, he could not stop.

“Two months ago, I found two manuscripts hidden behind a temple mural. It was accidental… or maybe not. I had suspected that place since I was a child.”

The first manuscript described a once-existing higher civilization in detail.

“The other manuscript… it only had a single sentence written on it.”
Hugh looked up at the sky as he continued.

“Intuition, resonance, contact, immersion, fusion, joy, fulfillment…”

At that moment, Homogeen quietly added:

“…and then, rebirth.”

Hugh gasped.
“How do you… know even the rest of it?”

Homogeen murmured softly:

“How could I forget? That is the supplement to the Anti-Quantum Law… that I created.”

Hugh was speechless.

He simply stared at the man before him—
as if seeing the stars of the night sky for the very first time—
a mixture of awe and reverence filling his expression.

Thus, the plan of Homogeen—
no, Novel Mirai—
began to move forward, quietly and inevitably.

To be continued…

○ One-line Philosophical Theme

“History is not moved by the chosen, but by those who are summoned.”

○ Opening Hook

A man bearing twenty thousand years of memory was searching for a single mathematician.

○ Previous Episode (Episode 2) Summary

In pursuit of traces of Planet Ealto, Novel Mirai travels across a thousand star systems and finally arrives at Planet Nackcell. There, fragments of the lost world Orbital—its nature and memory—remain, offering new clues to his search.

○ Ultra-Short Summary

Disguised as Homogeen, Novel Mirai infiltrates Nackcell University and makes contact with the young mathematician Hugh Donack, who possesses psychic empathy.
The ancient manuscripts he discovered are deeply connected to the Anti-Quantum Law created by Novel himself.

○ Next Episode Preview (Episode 4)

Novel Mirai, a robot possessing an anti-quantum intellect, discovers within Hugh Donack a talent rivaling that of Lambda Griss.
However, that power carries the potential to shake galactic history itself.
To protect the future, Mirai makes a ruthless decision—
to erase Hugh’s memory.
Yet five hundred years later, that talent will be unleashed upon the galaxy once more.

○ Glossary

■ Psychic Empathy (Telepathic Sensitivity)
The ability to intuitively perceive the mental states and thoughts of others. Hugh Donack possesses an advanced form of this ability, closely linked to mathematical intuition.

■ Radiant Cube
A high-dimensional data storage device related to Chrono Bloom theory. A crucial artifact entrusted to Novel by Lambda Griss.

■ Anti-Quantum Law
A theoretical framework that transcends quantum mechanics, governing thought and historical control. Developed by Novel Mirai himself.

■ Two Codices
Two systems or plans supporting the future: the Archive (Planet Neo Aether) and Planet Lilinas (Ascxion District). They form the core of Lambda Griss’s long-term civilizational strategy under Novel’s guidance.

■ Planet Lilinas
The central world of galactic civilization, historically governing the entire galaxy. Novel once served as its chief administrative officer. It is the planet to which Hugh Donack may be invited.
